I feel a song coming on!

Warning! Stand clear – I feel a song coming on! Looks like from last count, this will be Musing Mana # 5

I had one of these experiences that I think songwriters long for: The Instant Jello Experience. Suddenly, a song, lyrics…verses, chorus and music, just gels up and comes into being seemingly out of nowhere.

At least, that is how it kind of felt at the time. In reality, I know that my mind had been accumlating bits and pieces and mulling over things for a long time.

I have wanted to write a song for my daughter, Michelle, for a very long time. She is a special girl. She definitely has many angels surrounding her since the moment she was conceived. She is very loved and wanted. We adopted Michelle as an infant. She left the hospital at 4 days old and came to us. It was a quintessential Pacific Northwest moment….her adoption worker rode with her across Puget Sound and met us on the beach on a beautiful, sunny May day and placed her in our arms. We are, to this day, convince an angel, a bonafide angel, was there and spoke to us that day. It is a moment only my wife and I can truly appreciate and we treasure it deeply in our hearts.

This is also a song about rainbows. God’s symbol of love for His people and a reminder to us on those dark days to “have faith”…it will be okay. Coincidentally, Michelle is absolutely fascinated by and in love with rainbows.

So, having said that…that is this is what this song is about…real life….real love…a parent’s love….God’s love…beauty…life!

Check back in a day or two…the mixing is almost done and I will post it ASAP.
