Here is a bit of my computer art in the form of a new and improved “Kilika” ukulele fretboard. The last post was kind of primitive. As you can see, this one does not have the notes installed yet…..that will come in next installment. If you want a PDF of this, click here. More on my studio project. At long last I can move in from hanging out with my guitar in the garage and stay warm in the house. The project is 99% complete, except for installing the ceramic tile window sill and hanging the curtains. I’m sure the garage was way cruel on my guitars and that they will live much healthier and happier lives inside the house now.

There should be a few actual photos of some nooks and crannies of my cave coming down the line to you soon.

My day job turned into a big question mark in February last year when our parent company announced plans to unload our division and I began working my own business evenings and weekends building my own business. But by November I kissed the day job goodbye and went full time into my own business. It was kind of scary going out on my own, especially having to find my own insurance, but now it feels quite good and I am finding a new type of freedom I have not known for a long time. It is my hope [...] Continue Reading…
