This is my very first post ever created on my new Mac computer. I knew I had to get this out today as it is the 1st of September (and Labor Day). I have not been laboring, though my body is not convinced, since I decided to redo my studio in celebration of getting all this new Apple hardware. So the last few days I have been keeping busy completely emptying my studio, ripping out the old carpet, installing new carpet, putting everything back and in the process discovering that I had a whole lot of books stored in here along with everything else. Oh yes, I saved until the very end, unpacking my new Mac. It is a stark contrast to see it sitting atop my 30 pound desktop PC. For now, until I am fully comfortably migrated from Windows to OSX and the Mac I will switch between the two systems via a KVM switch. Let me tell you, the Mac part was a snap, by far the hardest part in this little adventure was the KVM switch. The first one that I bought, from “CompuCable” is a simple manual AB switch, but it did not ship with VGA monitor cables and I looked in every electronics store I could think of and no one has the right type of VGA extension cables that I need to get the thing connected. So finally in exasperation, I decided to buy another KVM switch, this time a “Flip”, that comes with attached monitor cables. That part was great. But once I got it all hooked up I could not get the darn thing to flip between systems. It appears the little remote switch is not working….so back to the store I go again. Patience is a virtue I am told. Anyway, I am looking forward to installing Logic Studio…that should be the last of my mini projects and then I can get back to working on the next song that was actually due in August, but now will be a September kind of release instead.
